I'm exhausted but have just finished the first draft of a Thai-English translation about a drainage design and flood prevention project. There are some missing words to be filled (who knows eg what ดินสตึก is in English?), and I'll have to read through the 12 pages of texts and another 10 pages of figures and tables tomorrow, which is when it is due.

tips for translators and more

Do not accept to work on a translation 1. (too far) outside your field, 2. out of consideration that if you don't do it, no one will, and those looking for a translator (usually those you love and respect) will be in trouble.
Other jobs you may need to do, as a university lecturer, apart from the obvious teaching and researching: checking if the fourth-years have taken all that are required for them to graduate, checking if the Graduate School website contains the correct information about your MA curriculum.
